Hey Y'all,
We're Matt and Tricia (that's our picture on the left). We just started as the Cares Team here at Bolton's Landing. We'll be planning events for the community and help get people connected however we can. Please let us know if there's ever anything we can do to help.
So, here's a little bit about who we are: We're both from the Charleston area and met during high school. At first, Matt was too much of a dork, and Tricia was too much of a freak for us to be friends. But, our personalities evened out enough by the end of high school for us to be friends, and eventually best friends. After we had both graduated from college (in 2005 and 2006), we ended up falling in love and then getting married in July 2007.
Our first year of marriage, we lived in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area of Texas. While we lived there, we heard about the Cares program and became a Cares team. After a few months of being a Cares team, we had the opportunity to move to Thailand to teach at an elementary school. So, during our second year of marriage, we lived in Thailand. Matt was teaching 2nd grade, and Tricia taught 4th grade. We had so much fun!
But, it wasn't the best timing for us to continue living in Thailand, so we moved back to Charleston in the summer of 2009. We've been wanting to be a part of the Cares program in Charleston, so we're so excited to be here at Bolton's Landing.
We'll do posts later with more information about each of us. You should also know that we have a 4-legged child named Nala. And she's our only child for now.
